Wigan Athletic pull plug on deal for Portsmouth FC striker David Nugent

According to reports Wigan Athletic have ended their interest in Portsmouth FC hitman David Nugent.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has managed to sign Chelsea FC youngster Franco di Santo so ending his quest for an extra striker.

Nugent was hoping for a return to the Premiership having been relegated with loan club Burnley FC last season and watched his parent club Pompey follow them into the Championship.

It also appears that Blackpool are no longer interested as boss Ian Holloway is closing in on a deal for Leicester City striker DJ Campbell.
