According to reports Wigan Athletic are interested in former Arsenal FC forward Robert Pires.
It seems Latics boss Roberto Martinez has identified former Gunner as a short-term option to provide more forward power and kick-start their faltering season.
Vital Football claims Pires has become a possibility following his release from Spanish side Villarreal and will offer the option of playing wide or just behind a frontman.
The 36-year-old former France international would bring much-needed experience to the DW Stadium.
He has 79 international caps and over 500 appearances for Metz, Marseille, Arsenal and Villarreal.
