Wigan Athletic have turned down Birmingham City`s latest offer for Charles N`Zogbia which is understood to be around £9 million.
Chairman Dave Whelan believes the winger is worth £10 million valuation and it seems he will not budge from that position.
Birmingham have tried to tempt the Latics into relenting over the sale of the France international but it seems only the asking price will do.
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish confirmed yesterday that he had made an improved offer for N`Zogbia and also said it would be the club’s final offer.
McLeish said: “We have made another bid for Charles and we wait to see if it's successful or not. We're awaiting Wigan's response.
“If this doesn't happen, we have to move on to our next target quickly.”
With the transfer deadline set for Tuesday it now looks unlikely that a deal will happen before the transfer window closes.
