According to reports Birmingham City have increased their bid for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N’Zogbia.

The Blues have been chasing the Frenchman throughout the summer and had an offer turned down at the end of last season.

However, manager Alex McLeish looks determined to land his man and is now looking the favourite to win the race.

The 24-year-old believes he needs to move on to bigger things and is likely to welcome a move to St Andrews.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, who signed N'Zogbia when he was at the DW Stadium is also interested in the player.
