Jason Scotland has left Wigan Athletic for Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old striker has signed a two-year deal at Portman Road.

He told BBC Radio Suffolk: "It's been difficult at Wigan, I've not been enjoying my football like I enjoyed it at Swansea.

"Hopefully I can be back out scoring goals and enjoying my football."

Town chief executive Simon Clegg said: "The deal was actually agreed last week but because of the Wigan manager's requirements to have Jason available for Saturday's game against Chelsea the deal couldn't be completed until today.

"I think securing Jason underlines the ambitions of this club to be playing Premier League football."
