Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez believes new signing Mauro Boselli can break into the Argentina international set-up.
The Spaniard claims Boselli has the ability to take his place alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez.
Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post: “Mauro got a knock in the early stages against Zaragoza, but he didn’t want to come off.
“That’s the type of character he is, and for him to play 90 minutes was a real plus for us.
“I have been really pleased with his footballing intelligence – the way he moves, the way he makes his runs – and he’ll get into a lot of good positions this season.
“It doesn’t worry me at all that he missed a couple of chances on Wednesday, because he is the best finisher I have seen for a long, long time. I am so excited about the future because I really feel we have got a future Argentinian regular on our hands.”
