According to reports Hamilton Academicals midfielder James McArthur is set to join Wigan Athletic.

The Scottish Sun claims the Latics have stepped up talks over the last 48 hours.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has just returned from a pre-season tour in Sweden and is anxious to finally close out the deal.

McArthur, who has a year left of his Accies contract, is apparently desperate to be reunited with his ex-Accies team-mate James McCarthy in the Premier League.

I hope this deal gets wrapped up, we've been chasing him for a while now. Good addition to the squad me thinks ;)

Why does Leeds keep being linked with this player? Simon Grayson has said we have not bid for him and have no intention of doing so!
