Wigan Athletic target James McArthur’s move to Leeds United has reportedly taken a step closer.
The Daily Record claims Leeds could be set to scupper the Latics' hopes of landing the Hamilton youngster after putting in a £750,000 bid for the midfielder.
It has been revealed that the Elland Road outfit made their move for the 22-year old on Monday night and they hope to snatch him ahead of both the Latics and Rangers.
United see McArthur as their potential midfield playmaker as they seek next season to reach the Premier League.
