It is reported that new Liverpool FC boss Roy Hodgson is keen on Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa.

The Daily Mail claims Hodgson is ready to go head-to-head with his Sunderland counterpart Steve Bruce in a £6 million battle to sign the Honduran.

Hodgson has identified the left of his defence as a prime area for strengthening with Emiliano Insua seemingly a target for Fiorentina.
