Wigan Athletic defender Gary Caldwell has praised teammate Hugo Rodallega following their shock defeat of Liverpool FC.
The Colombian score the vital goal to grab a vital three points for the Latics and deal a huge blow to the Reds hopes of securing fourth spot in the Premier League.
Caldwell said: "It was a great goal at the right time, and a fantastic ball in from Boycey.
“Hugo's been knocking on the door for the past two weeks, getting closer each time and it was great to see him on the score-sheet again he really deserved it.
"I thought the strikers and midfielders absolutely worked their socks off and although they tired late on we defended as a group when we had to.
"Liverpool are a great side, full of world-class players who aren't going to throw the towel in. They gave it their all and we did well to see the game out.
"When we're defending we have to try and hit teams on the break with the pace that we have in the team."There were two or three occasions where we could have finished them off toward the end but thankfully Hugo's goal was enough to get the win.”
