Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has urged Fabio Capello to consider Charles N'Zogbia for the England squad.

N'Zogbia was born in Harfleur, Normandy, but qualifies to play for England, having played in the Premier League since leaving his local club Le Havre in the summer of 2004.

Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post: "If Charles can be consistent enough between now and the end of the season, he must have a great chance of going to the World Cup – whoever he chooses to play for.

"He is 'homegrown' now and qualifies to play for England as well as France, but it's his decision.

"Charles has got an exciting challenge ahead of him to carry on improving, because he is capable of going on to a higher level still."
