New Wigan Athletic signing Marcelo Moreno has revealed he is settled at the club after a dismal time in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 22-year-old Bolivia striker moved to Donetsk in May 2008 on a five-year contract was loaned to German outfit Werder Bremen after he failed to settle.
He has now joined the Latics on loan until the end of the season and admits he already feels more at home there.
He told the Daily Mirror: "I was all alone in Ukraine for four months. No friends and no family.
"I didn't speak the language. Even when I went to the supermarket there was nothing I recognised.
"It was a low time for me, but I don't have any regrets about going there, it made me develop as a person and a player.
"I feel at home here because the manager speaks Spanish, it helps me understand the tactics.
"Some of the players speak Spanish too, but we talk English on the pitch."
