West Bromwich Albion manager Roberto Di Matteo is considering a move to bring Wigan Athletic midfielder Jason Koumas back to The Hawthorns.
Koumas has struggled to break into Roberto Martinez's first team and has not played in the Premier League since before Christmas.
He previously spent five years with West Brom before leaving for the Latics in 2007.
Speaking on the club’s official website Di Matteo said: "We've been linked with a few players and he is one of the players we are looking at.
"But it depends who we can get as well. It's not just who we want.
"The loan market opened on Tuesday. We're in contact with a number of clubs on players we are looking at.
"We get requests for our players and you would like them to go on loan, but you can't because of the number of games and players we have available.
"The same situation probably applies to everyone else."
