According to reports Wigan Athletic are set to snatch Paraguay star Christian Riveros from under the noses of Sunderland FC.
Midfielder Riveros has been a long-term target for Sunderland boss Steve Bruce and was expected to move to Wearside this month.
However, the Daily Mail claims Riveros’ Mexican club, Cruz Azul, has offered him to Latics boss Roberto Martinez.
Riveros is a Paraguay international and played in the last World Cup.
