Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez welcomes David Moyes’ Everton FC hoping his side can stop the Toffees in their tracks.
Wigan are staring relegation in the face, standing just two points above the bottom three in the tightly-packed relegation battle and continuing to be dogged by inconsistency.
They will be looking to start their recovery with a home win against the Merseysiders.
Moyes' men have climbed into the top half of the table on the back of an excellent run of form which followed their defeat in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool in November.
Wigan could be without captain Mario Melchiot as he faces a late fitness test after being forced off at Ewood Park in midweek with a neck problem.
Serbia international Vladimir Stojkovic will continue in goal for the Latics with Chris Kirkland recovering from a collarbone injury.
Richard Kingson remains on international duty with Ghana having reached the final of the African Cup of Nations so veteran Mike Pollitt will be the back-up shot-stopper on the bench.
