According to reports Wigan Athletic are still negotiating with Villarreal over a move for striker Marco Ruben.

It is believed that the Argentine striker has already agreed terms with The Latics on a four-and-half year deal.

Ruben is understood to be very impressed with Latics chief Roberto Martinez and is eager to seal a move to the DW Stadium.

However, Sky Sports understands that the stumbling block to sealing a deal is the payments of the final fee.

Villarreal have said that the player will be staying, but Wigan have not given up hope of satisfactorily concluding the matter.
