Wigan Athletic’s Charles N’Zogbia is just like Barcelona’s Lionel Messi claims Roberto Martine

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez believes Charles N'Zogbia is capable of emulating the feats of players such as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Martinez likened N’Zogbia to the Argentinian after the winger scored Wigan’s second goal in a win over their fellow strugglers Wolves.

He said: ‘The way Charlie plays, he has such an electric left foot.

"Messi can go both ways, and he’s got a great finish. Low balance. The way he covers the ground, the way he works. It makes him a special player.

"Charlie knows he can go as high as he wants. He has gone on to a different level but I feel he can improve a lot still."
