Wigan defender Erik Edman seems set to stay in the English league with a possible move to Sheffield United on loan.
The 31-year old Swedish left-back has fallen down the pecking order since Roberto Martinez took over at the DW Stadium.
He has been linked with clubs in Germany and Holland, but a stay in England seem likely according to his agent Allan Bak Jensen.
“There has been a big interest from Dutch clubs and recently Erik turned down a big German club that wanted to take him on loan till this summer," Jensen told Aftonbladet.
"Sheffield United would suit Erik really good. The club has expressed a big interest in loaning Edman.
"But nothing is definite yet. A loan to Sheffield would suit really good for social reasons. Erik and his wife Hanna are awaiting a third child and don't want to move.
"Going on loan will probably not be the final move."
