It is reported that Wigan Athletic have emerged as favourites to sign want-away Celtic defender Gary Caldwell.
It seemed Caldwell was destined to join his former manager Gordon Strachan at the Riverside Stadium.
However, the Sunday Mail claims the Scot is stalling on the deal in the light of interest from the Latics.
Indeed, it is believed the 27-year-old will meet Latics boss Roberto Martinez within the next 24 hours to discuss a possible switch.
Wigan and Middlesbrough are both prepared to pay £1m but Caldwell favours a move to the Premiership.
