It is reported that Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is looking to land centre-half Joao Carlos.

The Sun claims Martinez is ready to make a £4million bid for the Brazilian.

It appears Martinez narrowly failed to land the 28-year-old from Belgian side Genk in the summer.

He arrived in the Belgian league from CSKA Sofia in August 2002 before moving on to Lokeren in July 2004. He joined his current in 2008.
