Defender Emmerson Boyce has warned the rest of the Premier League that one of Wigan's upcoming opponents will experience 'a hammering' if their performance against Fulham is any indication.
Wigan were held at home 1-1 by the Cottagers but they had a host of chances to comfortably win the game.
However, Boyce has taken heart from the fact at they are creating chances and believes it is only a matter of time before they start taking them.
Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post he said: "We keep knocking on the door – and sooner or later we are going to give someone a hammering.
"On another day, the goals would have gone in, but it wasn't meant to be on Sunday.
"Thankfully we didn't get punished at the other end on the breakaway.
"We are working hard every day in training to get it right, but we are inconsistent.
"We put in a great display against Chelsea, then a poor one at Hull. We play well against Manchester City, then not so good at Portsmouth.
"If we can put a consistent run together, it can be a good season for us."
