According to reports Wigan Athletic are readying themselves for a battle to keep hold of midfielder Victor Moses.
The Wigan Evening Post claims Liverpool have joined Chelsea in the race for his signature.
Chelsea opened the bidding with a £3 million bid a fortnight ago, one that was immediately rejected by the Latics.
New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has yet to make his first signing since taking over from Kenny Dalglish earlier this month, and is expected to firm up their interest in Moses, who admitted recently he would be receptive to a move to Anfield.
"Could not imagine Moses going to Liverpool as they are too small a team these days."

"This is a month old story, with neither Liverpool or Chelsea actually showing any interest in lining the pockets of Big mouth Whelan. "
