Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has revealed he would prefer to remain in England if he is to leave on-loan next month.
Macheda is understood to be interesting Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez.
The Italian youngster told lalaziosiamonoi.it: "Now I do not feel right to return to Italy because my time at Samp went very badly, even at the level of adaptation was very hard.
"Then the team was not right, so it is hard to think of returning to Italy in January, instead to remain in England to play a little more here.
"Now the only team that I would go in Italy to is Lazio."
