Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is looking forward to having promising youngster Callum McManaman back at the club.

The 20-year-old joined Blackpool in October on a three-month loan.

The player has made nine Championship appearances so far for the Tangerines and it seems he could be back at the DW Stadium for the second half of the season.

"It's been great to see Callum enjoying his football and growing while at Blackpool," he told the Wigan Evening Post.

"It was important for him to get regular minutes under his belt, and we've all been admiring his progress from a distance.

"He'll be returning to our club as a more mature and confident player, ready to fight for his place in the first team. And we're all looking forward to seeing him back here in the first week in January."
