Preston North End are hoping to seal the capture of Manchester City goalkeeper David Gonzalez on loan.
The Colombian international joined City in January 2010, but he is yet to make his first-team debut.
He spent time on loan at Leeds last season, acting as cover for Kasper Schmeichel.
City rate Gonazlez very highly, but they want him to taste first-team football with a view to him returning to Eastlands and playing a part in their set up.
A host of other League One and Two clubs are battling to land the starlet on loan for the season.
