Preston North End midfielder Barry Nicholson has signed a new two year contract with the Club.
The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the Lilywhites' midfield, scoring four times from 23 appearances during the 2010/11 season following a successful comeback from two broken legs.
Scottish born and capped three times at senior level for his country, Nicholson came through the youth ranks at Rangers before moving on to Dunfermline and Aberdeen, he then signed for North End in June 2008 on a Bosman rulng.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be signing a new contract at Preston North End," he told the club's website.
"Like everyone else, I was disappointed that we got relegated and I think that there were many reasons for that, such as our terrible injury run and the loss of so many first team players in mid-season.
"It meant that the team took some time to settle, but we really got some rhythm going towards the end of the season, only to run out of time.
"I love being at Preston. It's a great Club and the fans are marvellous. Like everyone at the Club, I am determined to play my part in getting the Club back into the Championship."
