Preston North End are close to making Everton goalkeeper Iain Turner's loan deal a permanent one.
The 27-year-old joined Preston on loan in February and despite the club suffering relegation the shot-stopper impressed at Deepdale.
Turner joined Everton in 2003 from Stirling Albion, but he has been unable to establish himself at Goodison Park, making just five appearances in the first team.
Everton boss David Moyes is ready to let Turner move on with the player well down the pecking order in his plans.
Preston boss Phil Brown is keen to tie up a deal for Turner with Andy Lonergan set to leave the club this summer.
Other good news for Brown and Preston is that striker Iain Hume insists he has no intention of heading for the door in the summer.
The Scottish-born Canada international, who arrived at the club last year from Barnsley after a successful loan stint admitted:
"I'm not looking to manufacture a move away," Hume told the club's official website. "I know the summer's a long time, but I'm not looking to move.
"I'm enjoying myself, I'm smiling and I'm scoring goals, so there's no reason I won't be here next year."
