Preston North End's game with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park has been postponed due to "concerns over player safety".
Referee Darren Sheldrake led a pitch inspection at 10.45am and decided to wait for an hour before making a decision on whether the game would go ahead.
Scunthorpe United said that temperatures dipped to minus six in the early hours, affecting areas in front of the Rainham Steel Stand.
Referee Darren Sheldrake said: "The game is off on player safety. After walking the pitch right across, there are some areas that are soft and some areas that are extremely hard.
"The conditions haven't changed since 10.30 this morning. The main concern is the part of the goal when you come out of the tunnel where the sun isn't getting on it.
This is the second time the game has been postponed.
