Preston North End hitman Jon Parkin is set to join Cardiff City on a two and a half year contract after an agreement was finalised.
The 29-year-old was not involved in Preston's squad for the New Year's Day game against Derby as the transfer rumour neared a fact.
The agreement has now been agreed between the two clubs and Parkin has put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal.
Parkin, whose contract with Preston was set to expire in the summer, could make his Cardiff City debut against Leeds United on Tuesday night.
North End also lost on loan duo Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh after Stoke City recalled both players following the end of their loan spell.
On a positive note, the Lilywhites have managed to extend the loan of Burnley defender Leon Cort until 23rd January. However, Cort is ineligible for the FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forrest at Deepdale on Saturday.
