Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce believes there is little prospect of Stoke City striker James Beattie.

There has been speculation all summer that Beattie would be leaving the Britannia Stadium.

His mid-season bust-up with boss Tony Pulis seemed to spell the end of his time with the Potteries but so far he is still a Stoke player.

Allardyce has made no secret of his keenness to bring in the experienced hitman but has admitted the chances are slim.

He said: "We've not agreed a fee with Stoke and although James is on the list at the moment, it is not looking like he will be coming to Blackburn.”
