Preston North End midfielder Darren Carter has joined Millwall on a three-month loan deal in time to play against Bristol City.
The 26-year-old was placed on the transfer list by Darren Ferguson at the end of last season and had a trial spell at The Den in pre-season.
It looked like his chance in London had finished after he returned to Deepdale and then had a trial last week at Southampton.
Carter's loan spell begins on Friday 6th August and he is expected to be thrown straight into Kenny Jackett's squad for the game at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
