According to reports Preston North End are set to lose out on signing Scunthorpe United striker Gary Hooper.

BBC Sport claims Hooper is closing in on a move to Scottish Premier League giants Celtic FC.

The Bhoys appear to have landed one of the most sought-after Championship players this summer of this window, with North End, Newcastle United and Leeds United all interested.

It is understood that only personal terms need to be agreed, with both clubs settling on a £2.4 million fee.

The 22-year-old has netted 50 times in total over the last two years for the Iron.
