It is reported that Preston North End have rejected a third bid from West Bromwich Albion for goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

The undisclosed bid follows two previous unsuccessful offers, the first of which was in the region of £750,000.

North End boss Darren Ferguson will be hoping this puts an end to the Baggies' pursuit of Lonergan.

Albion are reportedly keen to sign a challenger for Scott Carson but have said they will not pay over-the-odds for what will effectively be a No.2 goalkeeper.

It is believed that Ferguson is demanding £2 million for the highly-rated stopper.
