Ex-Newcastle United and Manchester United midfielder considers coaching role at Preston North End

Former Newcastle United and Manchester United star Nicky Butt is believed to mulling over a move into coaching.

The Sunday Express claims he is considering a coaching position at Preston North End under Darren Ferguson, the father of his former boss Sir Alex.

The 35-year-old left Newcastle United at the end of last season after helping the Magpies win the Championship.

However, the paper also understands that Blackpool are hoping to persuade the Old Trafford legend to return to the top flight.

Boss Ian Holloway wants the Champions League winner’s experience for the Seasiders’ first Premier League season.
