Preston North End boss Darren Ferguson has warned Premier League clubs such as West Brom that goalkeeper Andy Lonergan is staying at Deepdale.
Lonergan has been linked with the Midlands club this summer.
Ferguson told the club’s official website: "Andy won’t be going anywhere, it is as simple as that.
"He is the sort of player you want to build your team around rather than lose.
"There will be speculation as there are rumours that we are struggling financially but we can't sell Andy Lonergan.
"We cannot afford to as we can’t replace him. For me he is the best goalkeeper in the Championship, and he is very happy here."
