Preston North End midfielder Paul Parry wants to avoid undergoing surgery despite having his season wrecked by a long-standing knee problem.
Parry joined North End from Cardiff last summer but he has not played since December due to the ongoing tendinitis in his knee.
The 29-year-old is now out for the rest of the season, but he is not keen on having an operation on a condition he has suffered with for a number of years.
Interviewed on the Preston North End official web site, Parry said: "I've had it for four or five years really and haven't had any great things done on it.
"I've spoken to a few players who have had the problem and they've had surgery on it and it's been a six to eight month process.
"I'm approaching 30 this year so it's something I don't really want to do.
“If I can get through my rehab programme and get myself right for the start of next season I'll be happy with that."
