Preston North End will be aiming to move above Doncaster Rovers when they welcome the South Yorkshire side to Deepdale.

North End boss Darren Ferguson is boosted by the return of Paul Coutts after the midfielder served a one-match ban during Saturday's draw at Plymouth.

Ferguson recalled the fit-again Richard Chaplow to the side at Home Park and the former West Brom man will hope to keep his place.

Chaplow's return was the only change to the side but the Lilywhites will check on the fitness of winger Ross Wallace after he was substituted at Plymouth due to a tight hamstring.

Ferguson is hopeful there was no significant damage and brought him off more as a precaution because of the heavy pitch.

Danny Welbeck (knee) and skipper Callum Davidson (muscle) could remain sidelined.
