Preston North End sign midfielder Alex Marrow on a season long loan from Crystal Palace and the 22 year old is looking forward to putting his injury troubles behind him when he makes his Preston debut at Yeovil today.
His move to PNE marks a return to the North West for Salford-born Marrow, who started his career at Blackburn, but never made a start for their first team.
Marrow, who will wear the number 13 shirt said: “I’m originally from Manchester, I played for Blackburn for quite a while, so this is an area I know well. Being back in the north will be a change of scenery for me.
“I’ve enjoyed my time in London with Palace, although I’ve had a few injuries. I’m here at Preston looking to get some games under my belt.
“Being on loan doesn’t worry me – I’ve been on loan before at both Oldham and Palace, and others player always help you settle in.”
Marrow is more of a defensive midfielder, while he has shown his versatility in the past by also operating at full-back and centre-half.
He said: “I prefer to play in the centre of midfield and I think most of the managers I have played under have preferred me in that position.
“I’ve played right-back and as a central defender too, and I’m more than happy to play wherever I’m asked.”
Marrow got his first taste of senior football at Oldham Athletic where he spent the 2009/10 campaign, making 33 appearances.
Last season, he joined Palace on loan for three months before joining the Eagles full-time last January.
