Preston North End have confirmed that loan pair Jamie McCombe and Nathan Doyle have returned to their parent clubs.
Neither player featured in Monday's 1-1 draw at Rochdale but both impressed having arrived at Deepdale in November.
Huddersfield defender McCombe, 29, made seven appearances while Barnsley midfielder Doyle, 24, played six times.
The club said in a statement on their official website: "Preston North End would like to thank both Jamie and Nathan for their efforts."
Whilst two loanees leave North End, new recruit Harry Bunn on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season has revealed he did not have to think twice about joining the club.
"I enjoyed my time at Rochdale but I am now looking towards the future and I can't wait to play for Preston North End," Bunn told the club's official website.
"Preston are such a massive club and when I heard of their interest I didn't have to think about it twice, my mind was already made up that I wanted to come here.
"I played twice against Preston during my time at Rochdale but Preston where definitely the best team that we came up against.
"The atmosphere when we came to Deepdale was brilliant, I loved it.The stadium is great and the fans get right behind the team, I can't wait to run out at Deepdale as a Preston player."
In other news, Preston North End are closing in on their new manager and should have him in place in the next couple of days.
According to chairman Peter Ridsdale, the search has been narrowed down to ‘one, maybe two external candidates’ and current caretaker duo Graham Alexander and David Unsworth.
Ridsdale said: “Yesterday I had an intensive day in relation to both internal and external candidates. The two lads currently in place, in whatever combination, are still in the process.
“And we have narrowed down the external list from 25 applicants to one, maybe two candidates.
“It’s just a matter of getting a few things out of the way and we’re likely to be in a position by the back end of the week to make an announcement.”
