Preston North End goalkeeper Iain Turner has broken a foot in training on Monday and is expected to be out for up to a month.

The 27-year old joined the Lilywhites on a permanent deal from Everton in the summer and has made 12 appearances so far this season.

Preston North End manager Phil Brown told the clubs website: "We are looking at a broken foot, unfortunately it was a training ground accident on Monday and he is possibly going to be out for a month.

North End striker Jamie Proctor has also just undergone a hernia operation.

"I will see Jamie tomorrow and we will find out to what extent of time he needs to recover from the operation.

"Jamie is a strong athletic character who will be desperate to get back out there on the running track and get his fitness back.

"I don't think it will be a matter of months, more like a matter of weeks before we get him back out there."
