
Leeds United have signed want-away Preston North End goalkeeper Andrew Lonergan for an undisclosed fee, whilst Roy Carrol is close to replacing Lonergan at Deepdale.
Lonergan has signed a three-year deal at Elland Road.
Lonergan, who made over 200 appearances for North End in an 11-year spell, acts as a replacement for the departed Kasper Schmeichel.
"This is something that has been ongoing for a while and some deals take longer to be concluded than others," boss Simon Grayson told Leeds United's official website.
"Contrary to the speculation we weren't chasing a lot of goalkeepers, Andy was always my number one choice, and I'm delighted we could bring him here.
"He's played many games in the Championship and has been linked with many moves to the Premier League which speaks volumes about him.
"He can't wait to get started and we're looking forward to working with him."
Whilst former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carrol is close to signing for North End on a free transfer.
The 33 year old has impressed on trial with the club after leaving Danish outfit Odense in February.
featuring in two pre-season friendlies against Blackburn and Kendal.
Carroll, who won a Premier League winners' medal and the FA Cup during his four seasons at Old Trafford between 2001 and 2005, will bring plenty of experience to Preston.
