Ex-Wanderer Tony Kelly has been speaking out about the hot topic of diving in the modern game and Sean Davis’ controversial dismissal of Sean Davis last weekend.
Speaking to Bolton News, he warned: “Diving has been in the news since the Eduardo incident and I do think it is creeping back into the game.
“Players go down far too easily now and it has been going on for a while. It certainly didn’t happen when I was playing.
“I would solve it by handing out red cards to offenders. That would soon stop it.
“It still baffles me why Sean Davis was sent-off. It was never a red card.
“There is no common sense sometimes and I do think the referees are leaning more towards the top four these days.”
