Shittu seeking Bolton exit

Bolton defender Danny Shittu is looking for a new club before the transfer window closes on Monday.

Shittu believes he needs to be playing regular football this season to ensure his place in the Nigerian squad ahead of next summer's World Cup finals.

Zat Knight' arrival has limited Shittu's opportunities and Wanderers boss Gary Megson has admitted he is willing to let the imposing defender move on.

Portsmouth are keen on signing the former QPR and Watford man, while Birmingham, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are all reported to be interested.

Shittu's agent, Rachel Anderson, has confirmed the 28-year-old is weighing up his options and is interested in a move so that he can be playing regular first team football.

Speaking to skysports.com, she confirmed:"Bolton have agreed they will listen to offers for Danny and we are considering them now.

"Danny is keen to be playing on a regular basis and he will weigh up all offers that come his way.

"There has been a great deal of interest in Danny.”
