Wanderers are reported to be in discussions with Werder Bremen for their Portuguese international striker Hugo Almeida.
The Daily Mail says boss Gary Megson is waiting for a response from Werder Bremen regarding the forward who has been with the German outfit since 2006 netting a respectable 25 goals in 78 matches.
Megson is well aware that his strikeforce needs bolstering and a proven goalscorer such as Almeida would certainly fit the bill at the Reebok.
A favourite with the Bremen fans, the Portuguese has nevertheless fallen out-of-favour following the arrival of Claudio Pizarro and is reported to be available for £6 million.
