Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen has praised the clubs fans for their support during the victory over Manchester United on Wednesday.
The Dane has paid tribute to the ‘brilliant’ fans who helped Owen Coyle’s men to their first win of the season;
“The fans weren't only our 12th man on Wednesday, they were our 13th and 14th too,” said Jensen.
"They were absolutely brilliant, I've never seen anything like it and I've been here seven years now.
“We need them, it's vital. We don't want them on our backs. We want them to get on the oppositions backs, regardless of what happens.”
“We played well which makes it easier for them but, there will come a time here this season when we will be in trouble and that's when we will need them the most.”
Jensen, who is affectionately known as ‘Beast’ to Clarets fans, was instrumental in the win over the champions, saving a Michael Carrick penalty but isn’t letting the man of the match accolade go to his head;
“The save was just pure instinct. Mind games has nothing to do with it, it's just instinct.
“To be honest with you, when Carrick stepped up to the ball I was a bit surprised about it because they've got the Rooney's and the Owen's and everybody else.”
