Burnley manager Owen Coyle is looking at making Fernando Guerrero's stay at Turf Moor a permanent one.
The former Real Madrid under-19 winger has been on trial with the Clarets and Coyle is believed to be prepared to pay up to £2 million to secure the Ecuadorian's services for the Premiership newcomers but has not been able to enter into negotiations with Independiente del Valle as their president is currently on holiday.
"He is an entertaining, 19-year-old player with a chance and there has been dialogue, but that's all it is at this moment," said Coyle.
"We have had a chat with his club, but at the moment their president is out of the country on a cruise, so when he gets back to us we will know more about what finance is involved in the deal and we will take things from there."
