Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has backed Carlos Tevez to add an 'exciting, attacking dimension' to his side after the Argentine international agreed a five-year deal.

Tevez's move to City comes after he failed to agree a deal with local rivals Manchester United after his two year loan deal expired last month.

The former South American footballer of the year will complete his move after undergoing a medical, and his new boss, Hughes has already backed him to make an impact;
“Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all attributes that will help drive this club forward. He is not only outstanding technically, but he is also a reliable goalscorer and someone who will contribute to the team ethic.I cannot wait to welcome him at City”

Tevez is City's latest high profile signing this summer with Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz joining last month, and Hughes has praised the clubs owner for making the funds available;
“This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be.”
