Sir Alex Ferguson has stunned Manchester United fans by claiming he will not spend any more money in the summer transfer window.
So far Ferguson has only spent money Luis Antonio Valencia, and Gabriel Obertan, while Michael Owen was brought in on a free transfer from Newcastle.
Obertan, a French under 21 international arrived from Bordeaux for £3m and has joined Ecuador star Valencia - signed from Wigan for £16m. Ferguson has spent less that a quarter of the £80m outlay received for Crisitano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
United have been linked with a number of stars since Ronaldo left including Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery, but Ferguson rubbished all rumours.
Speaking at a press conference unvieling his new trio of signings Ferguson said;
“It is the end of our business, so all these stories about who we are supposed to getting, forget it.”
The news will no doubt come as a shock to Red Devils fans who expected big money signings to replace Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez, whose loan deal expired last month.
