Accrington Stanley avoided a FA Cup upset with a narrow 2-1 win against Blue Square Premier Salisbury City.
The League Two side dominated the first half with Salisbury keeper James Bittner pulling off a number of good saves, until Accrington's Jimmy Ryan finished from the edge of the area in the 19th minute.
Salisbury did not have a shot until late into the first half when Stuart Anderson's long-range effort was easy for keeper Ian Dunbavin.
The Reds doubled their lead, in the 33rd minute, when a John Miles corner was headed home at the near post by Michael Symes.
It looked comfortable for Stanley until the non-league side upped their game after the break with wideman Chris Flood putting a couple of dangerous crosses into the box for Matt Tubbs slotted into the bottom corner.
Stanley's need for a greater cup run saw them through.
The home team hung on and avoided an early FA Cup exit, as new Non-Executive Chairman Ilyas Khan cheered on his team in the stands with the home fans.
This victory came in the week when Stanley's £308,000 tax bill to HM Revenue and Customs was payed off by the Accrington-born millionaire after he saved the club from being wound up for the second time in its history.
