Huddersfield Town star Malvin Kamara has won the prize for the most bizarre football superstition - watching Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory before every match.
The talented midfielder, who was destined for Premiership stardom before injuries blighted his rise, has been a figure of fun for his TV obsession.
But the 25-year-old happily admitts he can't get enough of Willy and his Oompa Loompas.
He said: "I HAVE to watch Willy Wonka before every game.
"It really helps to get me in the right mood for what lies ahead.
"It's been my favourite film since I was little. I've got it on video and DVD and it calms my nerves.
"I think it also gives me that bit of luck before going out on the pitch.
"That is the original Gene Wilder version I'm talking about though, The Johnny Depp one just offends me."
Kamara, who is best friends with Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand and Aston Villa's Nigel Reo-Coker, has missed the best part of the season with a knee injury and Wonka will be his best therapy to a full recovery.
The former Cardiff midfielder has tried to rope his team-mates into the idea of watching Wonka before matches but to no avail.
A club insider said: "He's tried getting the lads around for a special Willy Wonka bonanza before games, but they're just not having it.
"They all thought he was joking when they heard about it, but he's definately not.
"Some players have to eat a certain meal before or a match or put their left boot on before their right, but I think Malvin can certainly say he has the most unusual superstition".
